ReStore Frequently Asked Questions

ReStore is Habitat for Humanity’s non-profit home improvement donation center which offers new and slightly used furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at lower than market value. All proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity and are used to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat ReStore has over 1,000 outlets in the world.

In 1991, the first Habitat for Humanity ReStore was launched in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and in September 1992, the first ReStore in the United States opened its doors in Austin, Texas. Since then, ReStores have expanded to more than 840 stores in the U.S. and a growing number of stores internationally.

Yes! ReStore is a great place to shop for bargains.

The ReStore's inventory varies from week to week, but generally includes appliances, cabinets, furniture, lighting and plumbing fixtures, hardware, roofing, carpet, tools, lumber, flooring, and residential building material. Depending on condition, most items are priced at 50% off regular market value.

The best way to see what we have in stock is to just come in and browse! We invite you to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get updates on our current inventory.

We ask donors to confirm that appliances are in 100% working order, and appliances that have been tested will be labeled. All appliances have a 30-day return policy with original receipt.

We will have dedicated sales associates who will be able to help you load your purchased items. Our store also has the proper equipment to help with the loading.

We accept cash and most credit cards. We do not accept checks.

You can make cash contributions physically. Cash payments are to be given to the cashier who will hand over a store or donation receipt. In-kind donations will also be honored at ReStore.

It is a service we are exploring, however, we currently don't have the capacity to deliver, but we can refer you to services that other customers have recommended.

ReStore does not accept any type of clothing. We may however recommend you to other organizations that accept clothing as a form of donation. Small household items would first have to be screened prior to being put for sale.

As part of our mission of selling quality products, we gladly accept brand new items.

In order to maximize fund raising potential, ReStore can only accept items that are in good condition. Most damaged material are unacceptable. For a complete list of desired items, please click here.

You may drop off donations during regular business hours. Donations are also accepted on Tuesdays from 8am to 5pm. Donated materials must be screened and approved prior to drop-off. Please drive under the blue awning and receiving area staff will help you unload and provide an acknowledgement receipt. Donations of awkward and/or heavy items may require an appointment for drop-off.

The Receiving Area Staff research and determine the appropriate value of donated items to be put on the sales floor. Values are subject to the Managers approval may differ significantly from market values.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept donations for beneficiary. We suggest you let Habitat ReStore offer your items to the public to raise money to help more families.

If your donation fits in your car, we ask you drop off your items at the store as our pickup service is limited to pre-approved items that are too large for standard vehicles. If you have a move-out deadline or demo date schedule, please plan ahead so we can make sure we can accommodate you.
